New to the Scrubs? Start here!
It may be you have only just discovered the Scrubs…or maybe you’ve decided to start coming here after a long absence. Either way, welcome! Here are a few things we think you’d like to know:
This is not a conventional urban park. You won’t find tarmac paths or manicured flower beds here. It’s a semi-wild habitat and home to an amazing diversity of species - birds (see photo) insects, plants, trees, mammals and reptiles
We humans pose a constant threat to the wildlife of the Scrubs.
Please do NOT walk or sit down in long grass areas - this is where wildlife should feel safe from us.
STAY on the paths in the woods and don’t damage trees.
TAKE your litter home or dispose in a bin so that it won’t end up on the ground.
Dogs love the Scrubs, and we love dogs, but please keep them under control.
