The Friends of the Scrubs invite you to our Wormwood Scrubs Nature Day. Come along to any or all of our special events, walk with the experts to learn about the habitats and species that live on the Scrubs and meet the nature experts outside Linford Christie Stadium.
Saturday 10 May:
8.30pm to 10.30pm BAT WALK with Kate McVay, Scrubs Ecology Officer. Come and spot these extraordinary creatures as they silently forage in the darkening sky. Meet at Linford Christie Stadium entrance.
Sunday 11 May:
6.00am to 8.00am DAWN CHORUS WALK led by international bird expert David Lindo. See the Scrubs at its most beautiful and hear our birds at their favourite hour - as the sun rises. Meet at Scrubs Lane Car Park.
10am to 11am HABITAT CHAT with Dr Tilly Collins, ecology adviser to FOWWS. You’ll be surprised by the variety of different habitats the Scrubs contains! Meet at Linford Christie Stadium entrance.
11.30am to 12.30pm BUTTERFLY HUNT led by Steve Bolton from the Butterfly Trust. Meet at Scrubs Lane Car Park
1.30pm to 2.30pm PLANT IDENTIFICATION TRAIL led by herbalists Roisin Reilly and Pan Pradere. What plants can we find on the Scrubs - and which are safe to eat? Meet at Linford Christie Stadium entrance.
3.30 to 4.45pm BUILD A BUG HOTEL/LIZARD LOUNGE - Meet outside Old Oak Family Hub
