The Trustees meeting - 9 February 2026
The Friends of The Scrubs Trustees’ Meeting
Held on Monday 9th February 2026 at 6pm - 7.30pm
Present: Stephen Waley-Cohen (Chair), Carmel McLoughlin (Secretary), Joaquim Pereira, Ben Novak, Sarah Abrahart, Faye Thomas
Apologies: Sarah Johnson, Emma Ransom, Smita Dave (Treasurer) and Tilly Collins (Environmental Adviser)
The trustees discussed the agenda received for WSCT next meeting on 11th February 2026. HS2 and the Biodiversity Masterplan were also discussed. Please see Stephen Waley-Cohen’s note of the WSCT meeting on the 11th Feb covers updates.
Plans are already underway for the 5th Annual Wormwood Scrubs Dog Show which will be held as usual on the last Sunday of July (26th July). The previous sponsors will be approached for their continued support of the event and there was discussion around food stalls, pricing and involvement of other organisations. Ben Novak who has masterminded the Dog Show since it began, has kindly agreed to continue in that role. The trustees would like Friends to come forward to volunteer on the day. Wormwood Scrubs Pony Centre has expressed an interest in becoming more involved in the event this year, which is very welcome. Ben will organise a meeting with them shortly and Stephen will also attend.
AOB: Ben Novak wishes to step down as a trustee of the Friends’ charity as he has moved away from the area. He has committed to carrying on with the organisation of the Dog Show for this year and into the future. He resigned with immediate effect at the meeting and was thanked for his contribution. The trustees welcomed that Ben was willing to be a part of the Dog Show for the future. The trustees agreed that Tilly Collins be co-opted as a trustee of the Friends charity and was appointed with immediate effect. Stephen intends to step down as a trustee and chair of the Friends’ charity at the next AGM. It was agreed that Faye and Tilly be co-chairs of the Friends’ charity from that point.
Date of Next Trustee meeting: The date of next meeting of the WSCT is set for the 17th March. It was agreed that if necessary for the Friends charity to meet before that date, a zoom meeting will be held on the 16th March.
