2026 Annual General Meeting

The Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the Friends of the Scrubs will be held on Wednesday 30th September at Brickfields Hall, 68A Eynham Road, London W12  0HA at 6.30pm.

There will be all the usual items of an AGM, (Review of the past year, Accounts, etc) and discussion of current and future issues facing the Scrubs.  

The Charity’s constitution requires 3 existing Trustees to stand down at each AGM, and this year Stephen Waley-Cohen (Chair) and Smita Dave (Treasurer) have decided to step down having been trustees/committee members since before FoWWS was established as a charity in 2019. They will not be standing for re-election.  

In addition, Tilly Collins, who was co-opted as a trustee during the current year, having been the Friend’s independent ecological advisor previously, is required under the rules to step down and stand for election at the AGM.  We have one further former trustee, Ben Novak, who stepped down during the year who has decided to stand again for re-election.  Ben is the person who started the Annual Dog Show on the Scrubs in 2022 and has been responsible for organising it each year since.  If elected, he is also offering to be the Treasurer for the charity going forward as well as continuing involvement with the dog show.  

The charity is allowed to have a maximum of 9 trustees but does not need to have 9. With the existing trustees, if Tilly and Ben are elected at the AGM, we will have 8 trustees.  The Charity would welcome a broader socio-cultural representation, but if any Friend wishes to put themselves forward for election as a Trustee, please first contact Stephen Waley-Cohen at ste...@swc-office.co.uk to discuss what being a Trustee involves, and then if they wish to, they must send their full details (including name, address, email address, phone number, length of time as a Friend) together with a short statement as to why they wish to be a Trustee of the Charity and what skills and attributes they can bring to the role, via email to Carmel McLoughlin, Secretary and Trustee of The Friends of the Scrubs at cmf...@gmail.com. This needs to be received no later than 23:59 on Tuesday 8th September 2026. 

Details of all candidates standing for election, or re-election, as trustee will be circulated to all Friends with the formal Notice of the AGM. If there are more than three candidates for election as Trustee,  then there will be a vote at the AGM on the 30th September, with the opportunity to vote by proxy if you cannot attend in person.

The Trustees hope many of you will attend the AGM and we plan to stay after the formal meeting to join Friends in conversation and refreshments.  Do come if you can.
